Yonas - Pumped Up Kicks (Remix)

Well the missing piece to the Club 190 music blog has finally arrived. My recent youtube travels have brought me to this gem by Yonas, remixing one of my favorite songs at the moment. I love this song more and more every time I hit play. Enjoy.

New Blood

Hey everyone, Dave here as the newest addition to Mike's music melding machine that is Unheard and Under Played. I'll be adding a new flavor here, starting with this song I just discovered yesterday and can't get out of my head. This is Hazel by Weekend.

Brandi Carlile - Heaven

I found this song when I was supposed to be studying for finals this past year. It's a cover of a Bryan Adams classic, but Brandi Carlile does a great job of putting her personal spin on it. Also the video that goes along with the song is pretty awesome. Baby you're all that I want.

Dawes - When My Time Comes

I was able to see these guys at a local coffee place last summer and since then they've gotten some pretty big national recognition. They've been featured in a few commercials and their new album has gotten some good reviews. Anyway this song is really good and even though I thought this band was a little cheesy live, they've grown on me. One time.

Rodrigo y Gabriela - Tamacun

I heard this song a few years ago on my favorite local radio station around here, WRNR. This song features the guitar stylings of two musicians out of Mexico. They play some classical sounding music, with a modern flare. I think that they would be outstanding to see live, but I did a little research and they seem to be on a music hiatus right now, bummer dude. Either way, this song is great and so are most of their others. Turn my headphones up.

The Head and The Heart - Lost In My Mind

So I'm not really sure where I heard this song first, but I think it might be in a commercial or two now. Anyway, this song is really fantastic. It has a really nice fall seasonal feel to it, which makes it perfect for this time of year. Also, the humming chorus is really catchy and is what keeps drawing me back. I haven't checked out much of their work, but after listening to this over the past few weeks I think I'm going to have to invest some time in it. Keep up the good work.

Santigold - L.E.S. Artistes

So its been a while since any postings have gone up so let me first apologize for that. Here is one of my favorite lady singers of the past few year, Santigold. She has a very addicting voice and all of her songs have a fast, upbeat rhythm to them. If you enjoy this one check out Lights Out or Creator, all of her songs are a good time. Can you dig it?

Mat Kearney - Hey Mama

So I've heard various Mat Kearney songs over the past few years, but I think this will be the one to put him on the map. This is a fun song that has one of those great summer beats to it. That being said, it's probably not the best song considering the season, but deal with it. I hope you enjoy it. Words.

Emancipator - Shook (Mobb Deep/Sigur Ros)

Haven't posted in awhile and no excuses but work has been super busy and stressful at times. I have to give credit to my boy G Baby for showing me this song while we studied abroad in England. . . I think it's perfect to listen to whenever you just need a little calm in your life (I know, I'm supposed to be the upbeat guy!) . . . Emancipator is actually the stage name for Doug Appling, who is an artist of a genre of music called "trip hop". The song starts out slow with no words and about halfway through Mobb Deep jumps in with some rap lyrics. At first you believe no rap belongs in this track but quickly realize that it complements the beginning perfectly. . . Hope you had a great day and if you didn't, remember that tomorrow you can choose how your day goes!!

A.A. Bondy - Killed Myself When I Was Young

This guy should really be getting more recognition than he is. A.A. Bondy has a beautiful voice and his songs are really great. Killed Myself When I Was Young is probably my favorite song by him, but his other stuff is really good as well including his live performances. Check him out and pass him on.

The Tallest Man On Earth - King Of Spain

So I'm not sure when I was first introduced to this guy, but it was a little while back. Okay, he is from Sweden and has a voice kind of like Bob Dylan, two steps in the right direction in my book. This is one song that I really enjoy, but you should seriously check out The Dreamer if you're digging this tune. All of his stuff is extremely amazing. Live long and prosper.

The Raconteurs - Call It A Day

So most people have heard of Jack White (The White Stripes, as seen below) and his enormous contributions to the music world. This song comes from his slightly lesser known group The Raconteurs. All of their songs are really great, but this one is a little bit different and is hard to get out of your head. I think that the Raconteurs have since broken up, but that doesn't mean the music shouldn't be appreciated. Now Jack White is working with Insane Clown Posse on a project, so good luck with that Jack because I don't see how that could turn out to be pleasant on the ears. Lend me some sugar.

The White Stripes (Glitch Mob Remix) - Seven Nation Army

So I came across this song at the beginning of this summer and found it to be a great take on a really good original song. The Glitch Mob takes Seven Nation Army and transforms it to a tranced out roller coaster ride. Break out the good speakers and stare at the lava lamp as you listen to this. Rawesome.

Radical Face - Welcome Home

I have to give a big thank you to Caitlin for passing this along to me. The first time I listened to the chorus I knew that I was hooked. The verses create a nice flow while building up to the chorus, which explodes with beautiful sound and emotion. Today alone I think I listened to this song 5 times. Get at it.

Swedish House Mafia - Save The World (Style of Eye & Carli Remix)

Sooo I want to be the first to apologize for not blogging in over a week . . . Lonnie, Danner, and I went to the Virgin FreeFestival this past weekend and we're all still recovering . . . Wowww what a day it was . . . My love for DJ's, electronic, and dubstep music has just skyrocketed even more than before after listening to the likes of Porter Robinson, DeadMau5, and mah dude . . . CALVIN HARRIS . . . Soo original rights to this song go to the Swedish House Mafia but the remix is done right by Calvin. Mr. Harris hails from Scotland and his DJing skills have taken him all over the world . . . This sooonggg made me go a little crazy at VFest but it was all worth it . . . It builds up anticipation while keeping a sick beat . . .
To all my alumni friends, hope your jobs are going well (or grad school) and if you don't have one yet, don't fret because I know all of you will get one!! . . To everyone still in school, this better be played at your next party or else . . . .

Sean Hayes - Rosebush Inside

I found this song while listening to Pandora and I instantly fell in love with it. It is a classic pairing of man and guitar that creates a soothing melody. I've found that this song is best listen to while driving on back roads at night, but that's just my preference. Sweet sassy molassy.

Sleigh Bells - Rill Rill

So this band is pretty much amazing. Their entire album is great. Sleigh Bells is able to mix smooth beats and fast rhythms with catchy female vocals. I had an opportunity to see them last summer at Virgin Free Fest, but I sadly had not listened to them yet so I missed out completely on that opportunity. If you like this song check out Infinity Guitars and Crown on the Ground. Live it up.

Daniel Zott - Living A Lie

As this beautiful Monday night is winding down I figured that I would upload a relaxing song that you can drift asleep to. This comes from Daniel Zott who strings together a pleasant little ditty that just makes you want to close your eyes and drift off to another place. I hope you like it as much as I do. Love it.

'WHIRRING' THE JOY FORMIDABLE [OFFICIAL VIDEO]

Sooo I apologize for not keeping up on our song recommendations . . . Lonnie and I enjoyed a wonderful three day weekend with our fellow Etown friends on the Jersey Shoreand much fun was had by all . . . Now, we usually don't post songs that are heard on the radio but this one is an exception. After having the use of Sirius/XM Satellite radio over the weekend, "Alt Nation" was a popular channel and this song came in at #4 on their countdown. Whirring by the Joy Formiable just has a meldoic beat to it and Ritzy Bryan's voice is just so unique. All of the band members hale from my favorite place (the United Kingdom) and this song was just recently re-released. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did this weekend . . . Pass it on to your co-workers (if you've reached that step yet) or your fellow classmates if you want

Ellie Goulding - Lights (Bassnectar Remix)

Well hello to all of the readers out there of this magnificant blog . . . . My name is DJ Navajo and I will be guest blogging with some of the realest hits on the 1's and 2's from the great state of MD . . . Quick shout out to my main man Lonnie Gilinski for being the brain child behind this awesome blog(and being from MD as well) and for showcasing his rad skills on finding some true rare music in this world . . . And also allowing for me in on this great project . . . My hope is to complement Lonnie's excellent choices so far with more upbeat tunes. Some to get you dancing, some to make you romancing, and some even to get you prancing. You will notice my love for the Brits, house music, and anything that strikes my fancy. Buckle yourself in and get ready for some DJ NAVAJO . . . Without further adieu, my first selection is . .
Ellie Goulding . . . Her smooth, silky British voice is one of my favorites and combined with one of our favorite dubstep pieces, Bassnectar, this song called Lights will blow you away. I recommend you play this at the next party you're at and it shall get it started . . . Bon voyage my intellectuals

P.S. Just because I post this, doesn't mean I own the copyright dang it . . .

Kate Nash - Foundations

If there is one thing that I like more than female singers, it would have to be female singers with accents. This song comes across the pond from Kate Nash. She has a great voice and the lyrics are pretty solid also. Peace, love, hollister.

Broken Bells - October

Up next we have a sample of Broken Bells. This band is made up of two guys, one also known as Danger Mouse and the other is the lead singer of The Shins. This entire album is absolute gold, but this is one of my favorites. If you like this song I would highly recommend checking out Vaporize, The High Road or The Ghost Inside. Peaces.

Dr. Dog - Shadow People

This next song comes to us from Dr. Dog. He has an interesting voice that leaves you wanting to listen over and over again. Dr. Dog also gives a little shout out to Baltimore, so you can't ask for much more in a song. If you don't like the song on the first listen be sure to come back to it, you won't regret it. Hasta la pasta.

Nickel Creek - When In Rome

We're taking it a little bit country/folk with this one. This song by Nickel Creek came out a few years ago and has a wonderful country twang to it that makes it very catchy. It makes great use of a fiddle which gives it a special flare. Go in peace brah.
