Xaphoon Jones - The Jackson Pit

This is a mashup of two super groups, Jackson 5 and Passion Pit. Xaphoon Jones does a great job of melding the two together to create a good harmony. You might recognize Xaphoon as half of Chiddy Bang. It's a good mashup and definitely worth a few listens. Cheers!

Of Monsters And Men - Little Talks

I found this song a few months ago and I immediately thought that it sounded exactly like Edward Sharpe. It follows the same exchange between male and female vocals as Home does and it has a great melody to it. This band hails from Iceland and they are super. Cheers!

The Orion Experience - Obsessed With You

This one goes out to all the creepers out there. A shout out has to go out to Tom for this one, good pick dude. The Orion Experience turns hardcore stalking into a addicting sing-along. Also the music video is pretty sweet. So stop what you're doing and get creepy with it. Enjoy!

D.Veloped - Bring 'Em Home (T.I. & Edward Sharpe)

So this little number was passed on to me a few months ago and it's the best mashup of Edward Sharpe that I've heard so far. Ignore the first little bit before the actual song starts, it kind of sucks, but I can't find a version without the intro. Cheers!

Ben Gibbard - You Remind Me Of Home

Ben Gibbard, known for the lead vocals of The Postal Service and Deathcab For Cutie, has apparently done some solo work on the side. He has a really well-balanced voice that is extremely soothing. Also, he is married to the indie queen herself, Zooey Deschanel. Good for him. Either way, he makes beautiful music and this song doesn't disappoint. Cheers!

Bishop Allen - News From Your Bed

This is a song that I've been listening to for some time now and it has to have one of the catchiest progressions that I've ever heard. Bishop Allen has been around for a bit, but they are still relatively unknown. Although this is the only song that I'm posting by them right now, they are a great band and you can't go wrong listening to any of their stuff. I'm sure I'll be posting more by them in the future. Cheers!

Coeur De Pirate - Wicked Games

I came across this cover on another music site that I like a lot, indieshuffle.com. It's done by Canadian artist Coeur De Pirate, which means Pirate's Heart in French. This is a cover of The Weeknd, but I like this version loads better than the original. This version of Wicked Games combines two of my favorite things right now; unexpected covers and females vocals. Her voice combined with the lyrics makes you feel sad and angry at the same time. It's an interesting spin on the original. Enjoy!

Logic Ft. Camille Gray - Mind Of Logic

So I have to give a big thank you out to my friend DJ Navaho for this song. I think he posted it everywhere on facebook and probably only stopped when his hands cramped up. That aside, this song is superb. It features a newer hip-hop artist Logic laying down the verses, followed Camille Gray's silky vocals singing the chorus. It has a nice flow to it that makes you want to sway to the beat and tap your feet. It's a greta song for cruising with the windows down and sun shining bright. Cheers!

Onra - The Anthem

Okay so the way that I find most of my music is by perusing songs on youtube that I really like and slowly weaving a path through related songs. That's how I stumbled upon this gem. It is compiled by French hip-hop producer Onra and it samples music out of Vietnam. The beat in this track is absolutely addicting. Even though there is a slight language barrier, it still entrances you to listen over and over again. Enjoy!

Young The Giant - Take Me Home

My brother opened my eyes to this band a few months ago and I'm really loving this song. It's really mellow and after you listen to it a few times you really can't get it out of your head. It is fairly different from some of their other song offerings, but that shouldn't deter you from giving them a full listen. Enjoy!

First and Foremost

Hello everyone! As I sit here currently unemployed I feel like I should do something with my excessive amounts of free time. I like music and blogging is free, so I figured why not. Well, here is goes. I'll be posting the music that I love to listen to and hopefully everyone will enjoy it as much as I do. Cheers!
