1,2,3 - Confetti

I happened across a few really good songs the other day and this is the first. The beginning is kind of funny, I chuckled. Anyway, rip and tear this week a new one.

Deadman - If I Lay Down in the River

Kick off the week with a lil feel-good jam.

Bag Raiders - Shooting Stars

Get ready for the weekend with this phat jam.

Weakerthans - One Great City

Pandora threw this jam at me while I was listening to The Tallest Man On Earth (the best station). I don't know why I like this song so much, probably just because of the lines "I hate Winnepeg" and "the Jets suck anyway". True that.

The Cat Empire- Two Shoes

Hey, so here's my inaugural blog. My apologies if i don’t adhere to the unheard and underplayed requirement, living in New Zealand I'm a little out of touch with what’s popular in America right now. So here’s a song I really like, hope you do to.

Tor/Sufjan Stevens

Remixing Ratatat together with Kanye West or G-Unit seems like a natural fit. But a few years back when I stumbled onto someone remixing Sufjan Stevens with Hip Hop tracks and my interest was peaked. Turns out it was a good idea. You can download all the tracks from the album Illinoize here.

Here are my two favorites. Enjoy!

John Denver - Country Roads (Pretty Lights remix)

Here's the last hurrah of our road trip. Mike G gets all the credit for finding the awesome jam. It's a remix of John Denver's Country Roads by Pretty Lights. Dance on, everyone, dance on.

Atlas Genius, Trojans

I listened to this song this morning and had to turn up the volume, always a good sign....unless I'm actually losing my hearing...either way, enjoy!

Jamie T - Sticks 'n Stones, Emily's Heart

This is the first time a double artist shot has been tried, so hopefully this works. Jamie T hails from the great country of England. The first song, Sticks and Stones, is a pretty fast paced, rap-esque song that is quite good. The second song, Emily's Heart, is much slower and is more of a relaxing jam. One fun fact about Jamie T is that he has terrible teeth, which lines up pretty well with all rumors that I've heard about the Brits. Enjoy them both!

Whitley, More Than Life

Alright guys, here it is...a little womanly west coast flavor.

Unless you've been living under a rock you've probably heard this one before so I'm not entirely sure it falls under the 'underheard' or 'under played' category -oh dear God I'm failing already- but it does make me want to close my eyes and sing really loud in the car. (That only works if your a passenger though). But in all honesty, I really do like this song. That's what it's really about right?

Enjoy.

Jay-Z & Kanye West - Murder to Excellence

This is definitely not unheard, and probably not underplayed either, but a good song is a good song. We got two hip-hop powerhouses here so it was pretty much guaranteed their album would produce some good beatz.

Miniature Tigers - Cannibal Queen

This is a pleasant little ditty by Miniature Tigers. The real video is pretty cool, but I couldn't find that one to post. Anyway, enjoy the hell out of this.

2am Club - Nobody's In Love (Xaphoon Jones Remix)

This is another song by the white half of Chiddy Bang, Xaphoon Jones. I'm kind of on a remix kick right now and I kind of enjoy this one a lot. Breathe it in.

Broken Social Scene - Art House Director

Great horn work.

The song is only live on Youtube, so here is the crummy link I came up with. Sorry.

Art House Director

Childish Gambino - Freaks and Geeks

The blog just doesn't feel right without this song on it. Also I am going to see him tonight. Be jealous. Sorry for blogging.

Tarik - Weatherman

Well I'll be honest I haven't really posted on here since Yonas because well I liked that song so much I wasn't really sure how to follow it up. Here is a song by relatively unknown artist Tarik. I know very little about him and actually just heard this song the other day. Well, enjoy your Saturday.

Super Heavy - Miracle Worker

Heard this song a few weeks ago and this is what I call a SuperGroup. Mick Jagger, Joss Stone, Damian Marley, Dave Stewart and AR Rahman. Not going to lie, I don't actually know who the last 2 guys on that list are, but if their stuff is anything like this song I can probably dig them. Be happy.

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! - Maniac

Their new album is awesome. They took their sweet time (4 years), but it paid off. This track immediately jumped out at me.

GroupLove - Colours

I heard this song a few weeks ago and then I was playing Fifa 12 the other day and it is on the soundtrack, so I figured I better download it and pass it along to you folks. It has a little Modest Mouse suaveness to it which makes it a great one in my book. Get down with your bad self.

We'll live and die in these towns

Ahhh soo I'm terrible at keeping up at these posts but I promise to be more diligent from now on . . . Soo this song I have to give credit to my man Jake Wakeley (Come on you reds!!) for showing me in my first couple of weeks in his native England. . . I will forever be greatful for his hospitatlity and we immediately became friends because of two reasons 1. Football and 2. Music. . . . . The Enemy hail from Coventry in the UK and this song "We Live and Die in these Towns" climbed all the way to the top of the UK charts in 2007. . . It's one of countless songs who become popular in the UK but just never make it over to the United States . . . This band has also opened for Oasis, Kasaibian, and the Fratellis to name a few . . . Enjoy!!

Grizzly Bear - Knife

So this is probably one of my favorite bands at the moment. This song has a great melody that is perfect for fall. The only downside to this song is the video, it's bizarre to say the least. Anyway I hope this kicks off your week in great fall fashion. Stir it up.

Phoenix - Lisztomania (Alex Metric Remix)

Here's a weekend jam for everyone. Great remix of an already great song. Enjoy your Saturday!
