Reed KD - This Is It

I can't seem to get this song out of my head. Really good beat and chorus. Also, the video is just some dudes sledding, not too shabby.

Spose - Gee Wilikers

Heard this song a few days ago, kinda strange, but the lyrics are pretty catchy.

Blind Pilot - 3 Rounds and a Sound

I found these guys a couple of weeks ago and I can't stop listening to their stuff. This is probably my favorite.

Future of Forestry - Things That We Should Say

Let's tone it down a bit from all this Passion Pit and Aesop Rock with some good old accoustic. ( Not that there's anything wrong with them.)

Aesop Rock- Zero Dark Thirty

This comes off another recently released album. This ones probably slightly darker and slightly more morbid than passion pit but if that and intricate lyrics are your thing then check it out. he's even got a collab with Kimya Dawson...

Passion Pit - Take A Walk

The new Passion Pit album is pretty solid stuff. This one jumped out at me. Also check out Cry Like a Ghost.

Ben Sollee - How To See The Sun Rise

Good morning world. I'm sure everyone is waiting on the edge of their seat for the next song, so wait no more.

Fountains Of Wayne - Valley Winter Song

This song has been around for a real long time, but I still like and I don't think too many people know it. Open up your ear holes and take a listen.

Good Shirt- Sophie

Walk the Moon - Anna Sun

So I've been a part of this blog for months now and finally I have the presence of mind to post a new song that I found.  I heard this on the radio the other day while driving home from work and along with Of Monsters and Men, they have become one of my favorite bands to listen to lately.  Here is the first single off their debut album called Anna Sun.

Wye Oak - Regret

We hit 200 posts, I believe that's an accomplishment. Anyway, this is a slow song. Embrace it.

G-Eazy - Runaround Sue

Found this song this past weekend, never heard it before, but I'm glad I came across it. Definitely a summer bump tune.

Dan Auerbach - Goin' Home

This is one of my favorite new songs. You may have heard this guy's name before, he is part of the Black Keys. If you give this a listen you'll find it to be completely different from their stuff. but really soothing stuff. If you have any opinions on it, let me know what you think.

Jakob Dylan - Something Good This Way Comes

This song has been around for a while, not sure if it would be considered unheard or not, but it's my blog so what the hell.

The Dead Ships - You Were Young

I'm kinda motivated right now, so I decided to go ahead and put together a little video for this song. I couldn't find it anywhere on youtube, so I uploaded it on there too. I believe you can download this for free on the band's website. Dream on dreamers.

VIRGINS - Dolphin

So I know that my absence has been highly observed on here... I'm looking at you 9 followers. Huge thumbs up to everyone who has been posting. It's beach seasons and I'm thinking it's time to get back into the music thing.
This is a really great song by VIRGINS (I think it might be their only song on youtube), but this version is mildly not so outstanding. I know that you can download their full album from their website and the recorded version of this is outstanding. Give it a look kids.

Cash Money Bros

It's Friday. Get paid. Here's a smattering of my favorite lesser-played tunes with "Money" in the title:

The Beatles - You Never Give Me Your Money

The Who - Did You Steal My Money?

And one of my favorite songs by AC/DC, Money Talks

Menomena - Tithe

Takes a bit to get going, but absolutely worth the build. Love the high hat work.

Nyle - Let The Beat Build

Just a college kid laying down a hot track. Also this whole video was taken in one shot, pretty impressive considering the amount of instruments.

The Coral - Dreaming Of You

This is an older song, but it has some great harmonizing and it's a bona-fide toe-tapper.

The Gabe Dixon Band - All Will Be Well

Saw these guys live a few years ago. Good show. Anyway, they still haven't really hit the charts yet, but they put out some good stuff. Happy Monday fools.

Ingrid Michaelson- You and I

Just went to a rendition of Much Ado About Nothing in a park and a girl was playing this song on her ukulele

The Submaires-Symphonika

So I went to the Ra Ra Riot concert at the Belly Up in San Diego this past Thursday. Super awesome venue and a great show. I really liked one of their opening bands, The Submarines. The chica was so ridiculously cute on stage. She had a xylophone with tin foil stars hanging from it. Plus one for style points!

Plants and Animals - Lightshow

Just discovered these guys. Canadian band, been around for a bit and I'm really liking what I'm hearing. Check out the title track The End of That if you dig this.

Islands - Renaud

Odd little tune, but I can't help tapping my foot. Their new album is decent, check out Hallways.

Friday, February 17, 2012

Hoodie Allen ft. Starfucker - Owen Wilson

Ignore the brobible stuff because that's stupid... Unless you're Mike Behounek, then I guess for some reason it's ok. Either way this is a chill little piece of work from Hoodie Allen. If you haven't heard of him yet, you should check out his other offerings. This isn't one of his better knowns. Enjoy the hell out of today, it's Friday.

Dr Dog - Shadow People

This guy is pretty bizarre, but he puts out some great music. This song also references Baltimore, so it's a winner in my book.

Sleigh Bells - Comeback Kid

Their new album is out and is a pretty darn good follow up to Treats. I wanted to post the song Crush as well, but I can't find it anywhere! Keep an eye out, it's worth it.

First Aid Kit - Lion's Roar

I think they are becoming popular? Are popular? Are a girl band? Not sure, but I keep seeing the name.

Dawn Golden & Rosy Cross - White Sun

This is a really interesting song. I found it a few weeks ago and keep coming back to it. It's not really something that I'd usually listen to, but I've found it mildly entrancing. Let me know what you think.

The Middle East - Blood

I really like this song. And unlike the song below it comes with Dave's blessing and stamp of approval! HOLLLA! It was the ending song to a sappy chick flick, "Crazy Stupid Love" which as a side note...was great.

Lana Del Rey - Born to Die

This is a pretty stunning video. I've watched it a couple times and find it mesmerizing! Enjoy.

Sunday, January 22, 2012

Modest Mouse - Bukowski

I'm stepping on Galanek's toes a little here by putting this up by I've never heard this song by Modest Mouse and both it and the video are pretty good. Maybe even suave?

The Dear Hunter - The Color Spectrum

This next band came out with an incredible album comprising 36 songs representing the entire color spectrum BROYGBIVW, 4 songs per color. The cool thing is all colors are noticeably different and I'm sure anyone will find at least one color that they enjoy listening to.

"Lillian" is from the violet group.

"She's Always Singing" is from the yellow group.

Dale Earnhardt Jr Jr - Simple Girl

Solid song that I had forgotten about until tonight when I was looking up songs with whistling. Laid back, nice stuff.

Laura Stevenson and The Cans - Master Of Art

Great jam. Cute girl.

The Beautiful Girls - Take The Long Way Home

I have to thank Mr. Terrance Nevill for this one. He showed me this way back Sophomore year of college. It's a really great jam and their other stuff is pretty hot fire too. Enjoy your Monday!

Pale Young Gentlemen - Coal/Ivory

And one last one for the night. #Quality.

Eisleys Stacy DuPree - Silver Springs (Cover)

I found this cover a few years back and forgot about it. I think they did a great job and I really like the set. Go ahead, sing.

Baby - Devendra Banhart

This is a sweet little cover and I'm still trying to wake up so it works well :)

Ps: There's also a download link for free on YouTube in her description. Score!

Chumbawamba - Add Me

I honestly thought that Chumbawumba had died in the early 90's but they didn't and apparently they are still making music, pretty decent music at that. I guess this song is a little shout out to the almighty facebook, and it's a pretty solid jam. Deuces.

Langhorne Slim - I Love You, But Goodbye

I really, really, really like this song. It's been around for a while, but sadly this guy still hasn't garnered much attention. All of his acoustic stuff is amazing. I highly recommend checking him out further.

Cults - Go Outside

I found this song this past spring and I couldn't help but play it every time the weather was absolutely gorgeous. Probably not the best winter song, but with this global warming thing who knows, we might just get some days that require you to Go Outside.

Alex Winston - Everlasting Light (Black Keys Cover)

I know that Alex Winston has already been posted on here, but I came across this cover the other day and I feel that it's worthy of a post in here. Happy New Year, btdubs.

Childish Gambino & Chiddy Bang - Put It In Your Manners

I know that this song hasn't been that well received with the people I've shown it to, but screw them, I like it. Let me know what you think.
