Airborne Toxic Event-All I Ever Wanted

So if you have to listen to a song four times consecutively you know it's good or at the very least addictingly catchy. That hasn't happened to me since Mumford and Sons came out and totally engrossed I listened to "Little Lion Man" to the point where my roommates were probably plotting my demise...So Airborne Toxic's song, "All I Ever Wanted" was the same way. I finally looked up the video only to be completely dissapointed. It makes no sense.

1. There is a bizarre juxtaposition between the band and a completely unrelated couple event.
2. What cute young girl picks up a male hitch hiker in the middle of the desert....??
3. If he's hitch hiking how does he afford wine and dinner?
4. WAIT/What's the ring thing at the end?!

Anyhow, I guess catchy beat doesn't equal good video. Bummer. But check it out and seriously if you can explain what happens at the end, I'd love to know!

Pursuit of Happiness- Lissie

Here's one that goes along with some of the earlier themes of this blog, nice female singer and an unexpected cover. It works out really well and I like her style with the tequila at the start.

Portugal. The Man - So American

So when Mike's walking down those Parisian streets all the Frenchies are going to thinking this about him. "So American"

Portugal. The Man is the man.

Typhoon - The Honest Truth

Despite the chorus lyrics this song just makes me feel good. It's also a little christian-y if that's off-putting to anyone I apologize. It's still a good song.

King Charles, Bam Bam

So this is fun, quirky, and sweet. I can dig it. And I like those women's stockings!

Art vs. Science - Parlez Vous Francais?

In homage of my trip to Paris, I leave the blogging community this gem. I have to thank Adam Danner for finding this sweet nugget. See you in a week.

Hoodie Allen- James Franco

Sooo this is kind of old hat beacuse this album came out earlier this year but this song is just funny and no one posted it to the blog. Kudos to Dave for originally finding Hoodie, whose real name is Steve Markowitz (yea I would change it to Hoodie too). He's a UPenn graduate in finance, which only means he is a better rapper and smarter kid than me. Dang it . . ..

Sammy Adams- Blow up

Alright sooo we can go back and forth on whether this is as good as his old stuff but I'm feeling it. Boston's Boy just has the energy that few people can match and we all know how much I love his stuff.

Kina Grannis - In Your Arms

So this video came out a week ago and already has 2million+ views on youtube. The entire video was filmed in stop motion composed of only jellybeans and it took 2 years to do. Pretty impressive stuff. Oh and the song isn't half bad either.

Bruno Mars Cover

In support of my lovely friend Taylor I'd like to share her song cover of Lazy Song by Bruno Mars.

Nice work girl! You've got some kind of vocals.

This groups been around awhile and have heaps of good stuff. If your digging this check out san francisco knights and gamin on ya.

Tango Alpha Tango - I Have Stopped Thinking About You

I came across this song last week and it's really grown on me. I don't know anything about this band, but the song is solid. Get at it.

Blitzen Trapper - Black River Killer & Furr

I really hope that this band is not unheard of because they are superb. I started to listen to them a year or two ago and haven't looked back. This first song is a little less popular than the second one, but they are still both awesome. Check out some of their other stuff too, it wont disappoint.

KRS-One - Step Into a World (Rapture's Delight)

This song certainly wasn't unheard in its heyday, but then 1998 rolled around it has since become qualified for this blog. This song never gets old for me. Classic beatz.

The Constellations - Felicia

You're going to need to bathe after hearing this song because it is dirty.

Alabama Shakes - I Found You

The Alabama Shakes from Athens, Alabama. I dig em.

The Lonely Forest - We Sing In Time (Live)

I swear I need to move out to Seattle. KEXP radio is just loaded with great musicians and The Lonely Forest is no exception. I like the acoustic version of this song the best.

Charles Bradley - Why Is It So Hard

So here's my first post on this awesome blog. I've probably downloaded every song on this already so when Mike gave me the ability to post, it made my day.

Chris Bathgate - Madison House

Holy Avett Brothers, this guy has a familiar sound. Either way this song is pretty killer. A nice, slow, fall ditty. Words.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis - And We Danced

I have been listening to Macklemore for a while now. This relatively underground rapper from Seattle is on the up and up. This video just came out not too long ago and is hilarious. Shout out to Mike B. and Mike G. for the blog suggestion on this one.

Alex Winston - Sister Wife

Really good song. Kinda weird verses, but the chorus is pretty fantastic. Listen in.

Needle in Your Eye/War on Drugs

This band qualifies for this blog. Hard. They've got a lot of good songs. Check out "Arm's Like Boulders" and "Taking the Farm".
